Riding Through the Years

Verse 1

On the plains where the winds howl loud and clear
A cowboy rides no path but the frontier
His hands are worn, his spirit hard like stone
But it’s out here that he calls his only home

Verse 2

The sun beats down scorching all it finds
Yet freedom’s here, it’s what eases his mind
In the dust and heat, he finds his solace
A lonesome heart, but a boundless palace

Chorus

He fights with the storm and talks to the stars
The night is his friend, though it’s left some scars
Through joy and pain, he knows one thing is true
His life on the range, it’s both old and new

Verse 3

No walls confine him, no roof overhead
He makes his bed under the sky so red
The howl of the coyote, the owl’s mournful cry
In this wild expanse, he feels so alive

Verse 4

A tumbleweed rolls, catching the breeze
In its aimless journey, the cowboy sees
A kindred spirit wandering ‘cross the land
Unchained, untamed, he takes his stand

Chorus

He fights with the storm and talks to the stars
The night is his friend, though it’s left some scars
Through joy and pain, he knows one thing is true
His life on the range, it’s both old and new
